Theodore A. Johnson, 86, of Litchfield, passed away at his home Thursday, October 25, 2012. Ted was born July 5, 1926 in Litchfield on the family farm, to the late Fred and Lucy (nee Rausher) Johnson.
Ted had served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired truck driver for Rigid Tool, Elyria. Ted liked to fix lawn mowers, gardening, farming and spending time with his family and breakfast with Glenn and Doc. Ted will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by daughters, Lora Lee Hudgens, Pat Rhome, Lois (Jay) Goldsmith, Thurma Jean Canfield (Gary Marsh), Hope (Gene) Hinman and Stephanie Edge; brother, Larry Johnson; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Eleanor (Ellie) on January 21, 2011; son-in-law, Don Rhome; and siblings, Robert, Max, Dorothy and Margie.
Calling hours will be Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City. Celebration of Life Service will be 6 P.M., Sunday in the funeral home, with calling hours continued following the service. Rev. Bert Ambrose will officiate. At Ted’s request, cremation will take place. Private Family interment will be at Litchfield Township Cemetery at a later date.
