Lawrence J. Gallagher, 85, of Sheffield Village, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at his residence, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Lorain July 27, 1927.
Lawrence proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He retired from Norfolk & Western Rail Road in 1989. Lawrence enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, golfing, and he was a member of the 8 Ball Archers club.
He is survived by his son, Daniel J. Gallagher; daughter, Judy Kiedrowski; sister, Grace (Bill) Bliss; grandchildren, Tammy Soto, Daniel Twyman, and Andrew Fogo; great grandchildren, Jonah Barnett, Daniel Soto Jr., Nebraska Twyman, Lola Fogo, and Tyler Fogo; sister-in-law, Bernie Gallagher.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathryn Gallagher; parents, Lawrence and Emma Gallagher; brothers, Ralph, Earl, Sylvester; sisters, Lillian and Leona.
Friends may call Tuesday October 30, 2012 4 till 7 P.M. at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Twp. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Reverend Raymond Bowling Pastor of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Amherst will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst with Military.
