Chuck lost the love of his life, Shirley, just over a month ago, on September 18, 2012, Chuck and Shirley were married 57 years.
Chuck is survived by three daughters, Sandy (Mark) Stewart, Trudy (Tony) Lane and Melissa (Michael) Filipiak. He was affectionately known as “Pappy” to nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Sarah, Richard, Joseph, Anthony, Alyxandra, Madison, and Jillian; he is also survived by a loving brother, Donald.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bessie Fair; and one son, Chucky.
Chuck proudly served in the National Guard. His career included working at Sherwin Williams, serving as an Elyria City Councilman for 10 years, and as the Street Superintendent for the city of Elyria. Chuck served tirelessly with the Lowell St. Baptist Church, the P.T.A., the Elyria West Band, the Elyria Kiwanis Club, and the Elyria Democratic Party.
Friends may call at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10 A.M. in the funeral home. Rev. Edwin Gore, Sr., Pastor of Lowell St. Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
