Third man arrested in Lorain shooting

LORAIN — Another man was arrested in relation to the shooting of an 18-year-old Lorain man Oct. 16.

Shikem Crutcher, 18, of the 4400 block of Camden Ave., was arrested and charged with felonious assault.

The victim, Anthony Geiger, told police he was hit by a bullet while standing outside of a home in the 1100 block of West 18th Street. Geiger and two witnesses said a gold Chevy Malibu drove by the home, struck a pickup parked on the road, and a man leaned out the driver’s side window when they heard a gunshot.

Two other men, Rodric Beard, 19, of the 1800 block of E. 30th Street, and Antwon Taylor, 19, of the 3100 block of Surf Road, were arrested at 10:26 p.m. Friday and charged with felonious assault in relation to the shooting.

Lt. Mark Carpentiere would not comment on how the men were involved in the shooting, but said police have issued warrants for two other men. Those men are believed to be involved in the Oct. 16 shooting and possibly an Oct. 6 shooting that Carpentiere said police believe is related.

At 1:43 a.m. Oct. 6, police were sent to Gil’s International Lounge for a man who was shot.

Police said Arzell Nash, 26, of Lorain, was shot and a bag of cocaine was found lying outside the back door. A police report listed that it was unknown who the cocaine belonged to.
