He was born December 20, 1926 in Whitfield, Alabama, where he was a member of Black Bluff Baptist Church. He moved to Elyria in 1950 and later enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 1952. He was honorably discharged in November 1954 as a Corporal.
Alex worked 18 years at Elyria Foundry, 24 years at U.S. Steel and seasonally for 32 years at Grobe Fruit Farm. He enjoyed doing word puzzles, playing dominoes, fishing, and gardening. He also was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Alex leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Wesley Noble of Oberlin and adopted son, Mike Wojciak of Elyria; his twin sister, Ella Mae Coleman of Oberlin; 16 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela M. Noble; son, Alex “Xander” Noble II; his parents, Cleophas and Julia (Ward) Noble; his brothers, Joe Robert Noble, Dempsey Noble, Sr., Cleophas Noble, Sr., James Noble, Sr., and William Lee Noble; and a sister, Margaret Williams.
Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2012 from 10 A.M. until time of funeral service at 12 Noon at Living Word Church, 658 E. Erie Ave., Lorain, with Elder Ray H. Robinson, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
