Magdalene “Mag” (nee Fusa) Jenkins

Magdalene “Mag” Jenkins (nee Fusa) was born to Mike and Ernestine Fusa on November 11, 1936. She passed away at University Hospital on October 30, 2012, after a short illness.

Mag is the loving wife of Edward, to whom she was married for 58 years. She is the mother of six loving children, Cindy (Brad) Warner of Wakeman, Edward of Elyria, Laurie (Tony Macejko) Christopher of Avon, Sheryl (Paul) Bond of Elyria, Patrick of Elyria, Patricia Rosa of Elyria; grandmother of seven; and great-grandmother of 12.

Mag was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Ernestine Fusa (nee Molnar).

Mag was born in Elyria and resided there most of her life. She retired from Discount Drug Mart of Elyria after 23 years of service. She continued to be active in the “Lunch Bunch” which included other retirees from Drug Mart.

After retirement, she crafted floral arrangements and poured and painted ceramics. Mag specialized in antique stained Santa statues of the world, which she sold at various craft shows under the business name of Ceramics and Crafts by Mag.

She was a member of Saint Agnes Church, transferring from Sacred Heart Church of Elyria, where she was active in fund raising to save the parish. Mag was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of Saint Lads Church.

Mag was an active member of TOPS Elyria 105, having held the positions of co leader and secretary. She achieved the honor of becoming a KOPS. She was Member of Red Hat and especially enjoyed going to lunch at tea rooms. Mag was a Golden Moose member of the Elyria Moose Lodge #778.

Mag enjoyed spending time with her family. She coordinated and hosted all holiday and family get togethers in her home.

Mag enjoyed traveling. Some of Mag’s favorite trips were through the Amish towns of Ohio. She enjoyed staying at the peaceful inns, shopping and being a golf cart spectator with her husband, Ed. She also enjoyed league bowling, camping and hiking, going out to dinner with family, touring the caves and caverns of Ohio and nearby states, taking cruises, and going on gambling excursions.

Friends may call at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 4 until 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be held Friday, November 2, 2012, at 12:30 P.M., in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 P.M., at St. Agnes Church, 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. Father Albert Veigas, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
