Marjorie Alberta Horning (nee Bremke), 78 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange, following a lengthy illness. She was born October 14, 1934 in Elyria. Marjorie was a lifetime resident of Amherst. Her primary focus in life was that of being a homemaker. Marjorie had a servant’s heart and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst. She taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Guild. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, baking and reading.
Survivors include her son, David Horning of Lorain; her daughters and their husbands, Betty and Matt Linden of Grafton, Ruth and Robert McClure of Oberlin; and her brother and his wife, Robert and Michele Bremke of Winter Park, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Wilmer C. Horning on March 17, 2002; and her parents, Albert and Louise Bremke (nee Krueger).
Friends may call Tuesday, November 6, 2012, from 4 until 7 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 7, 2012, 11 A.M., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 115 Central Drive, Amherst. The Reverend Terrance Adamson, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
