Margaret M. Willbond, 76, of Gastonia, North Carolina, died peacefully Wednesday, October 24, 2012 after a short illness at her residence. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on December 22, 1935.
Ms. Willbond was a graduate of Washburn High School, Class of 1953 and worked as a nurse at Allen Memorial Hospital followed by 30 years of service to the Oberlin City Schools as Transportation Supervisor. She was active with the 4-H Club and a member of the snow angels snow mobile club. She spent her retired years in North Carolina as she enjoyed gardening, her great granddaughter, Ava, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include her children, Rick Willbond of Oberlin, Jim Willbond of Oberlin, Kim Metcalfe of Gastonia, Randy Willbond of Rochester; sister, Virginia Hill of Minnesota; also surviving are nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Ann; parents, Orville and Ruth Hansford; and brothers, Howard and Allen.
Friends are welcome to join at the Westwood Cemetery on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11 A.M.
