Vivian Caruthers (nee Grant), 90, of Wellington, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012, at her home, following a brief illness. She was born April 11, 1922 in Newport, Tennesse and was a Wellington resident for most of her life. Vivian enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Larry) Szep of Wellington, and Barbara (Bill) Welch of Elyria; son, Rick Caruthers of Wellington; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Cora Reppert of Crossville, Tennesse; and brother, Bob Grant of Crossville, Tennesse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2003; son, Ralph Caruthers; great-granddaughter, RaeAnne; sister, Dot O’Dell; and brothers, Lawrence and J.H. Grant.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 8, 2012, 4 until 7 P.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 440-322-4626. Services will be Friday, November 9, 2012, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home. The Reverend Steve Karmody, Pastor of the United Church of Huntington, will officiate. Burial will be at Huntington Cemetery, Huntington Township.
