Saturday, Nov. 3
8:09 a.m. — 3700 block Oxford Drive, reported theft from a vehicle. The vehicle’s owner said his vehicle’s window was smashed and a CD player and speakers were stolen.
11:48 a.m. — 500 block Broadway, reported theft of a rug from Bootlegger’s Bar. Police said a security video captured a frequent patron of the bar rolling up the rug and walking out the door with it.
2:22 p.m. — 300 block E. 22nd St., reported breaking and entering of a garage. The owner of the garage said an air compressor was stolen and he said a 5-feet-2-inch-tall man wearing a blue shirt, walking down the road, had the compressor. When he confronted the alleged burglar, he said the man ran off.
Sunday, Nov. 4
1:26 a.m. — 1200 block W. Seventh St., reported breaking and entering of a detached garage.
10:41 a.m. — 200 block E. 33rd St., a landlord of an apartment complex said he was doing work on the apartments when his car was stolen. Police were unable to locate the vehicle, which was described as a green four-door Kia Rio missing a front passenger hub cap.
Tuesday, Nov. 6
8:19 p.m. — 1500 block E. 30th St., Ismael A. Ostolaza, 25, 1500 block E. 31st St., issued a citation for driving under suspension and improper display of head light beams and issued a summons for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police said Ostolaza was driving with his high beams on and had a bag of marijuana in his pocket. Police said Ostolaza had in-state drug offense license suspensions and several prior traffic convictions.
8:55 p.m. — 2200 block W. Erie Ave., Nancy T. Klein, 58, same address, arrested and charged with failure to control and operating a vehicle while under the influence. Police said Klein struck a utility pole near a driveway and then a garage, damaging the vehicle. Police said Klein appeared to be intoxicated but refused to take a field sobriety test or a blood-alcohol test. Klein had no prior drunken driving convictions, according to a police report.
9:58 p.m. — Redhill Drive, Leron T. Atwater, 19, 1800 block E. 31st St., arrested and charged with stop sign violation, reckless operating, failure to comply and driving under suspension. Police said Atwater ran several stop signs without stopping and did not pull over his vehicle when officers tried to stop him. Police said Atwater’s license was suspended, and Atwater told police he knew he was being pulled over but did not know why.
Sunday, Nov. 4
7:47 p.m. — 6900 block Midway Mall, theft from a vehicle in the parking lot of Red Lobster. The vehicle’s owner said her vehicle’s window was broken and a purse that was on the passenger floorboard covered with a towel was missing. Police were unable to locate the purse or any witnesses.
7:55 p.m. — 100 block West Ave., reported theft of a wallet from a vehicle. A food stamp card, child support card, $139 in cash and a driver’s license were in the wallet.
Monday, Nov. 5
7:33 a.m. — 1200 block East Ave., reported theft of an unlocked vehicle from a driveway. The vehicle’s owner said she left the keys in the glove box. The car was described as a 1997 Chevy Lumina with no license plates.
Tuesday, Nov. 6
1 p.m. — Broad and Cedar streets, Gregory J. Barnes, 27, 300 block Broad St., arrested on a warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender. Barnes also was cited for driving under suspension and a seat belt violation.
Wednesday, Nov. 7
12:16 a.m. – 700 block Infirmary Road, police were sent to the area for shots fired and located four .38-caliber automatic shell casings near the rear door of a home. Officers searched the home but did not find any firearms, and a woman who lived in the home denied any involvement in the shooting. The woman, Nekeia Walker, 27, was arrested on a warrant through Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for contempt of court. A man in the area, Clyde Anderson, Jr., 21, was also arrested for a warrant through Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
