Elise LaVaughan Jessie

Elise LaVaughan Jessie, 84, died Monday, November 12, 2012. Born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, she lived in Stow for 53 years, prior to moving to Elyria eight years ago.

Mrs. Jessie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elyria, had served as past president of Missionary Guild, was a former member of O.E.S and Stow Alliance Fellowship, where she taught Bible study for 27 years. Adored by her children and grandchildren, she loved to cook and bake and had a very curious mind and loved learning new things. She had a lovely singing voice and cherished her little Jack Russell dog, Teddy. She had a kind and gentle heart, and her grace and elegance will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Iva (Newman) Faulkner; and sisters, Edith Garrard and Francine Petty.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Anthony; sons, Mark (Jackie) and David (Rosaelena); former daughter-in-law, Karen; grandchildren, Heather, Darin, Sarah, Jessica, Hannah and Stephen; sisters, Sharon Kay Foster and Gayla Dawn Catron; brother, Robert Faulkner; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road (Rt. 91), in Stow, for visitation Thursday, November 15, 2012, from 5 until 7 P.M., where Pastor W. Keith McKnight will conduct the service Friday, November 16, 2012 at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
