Although possessing little formal education, Mrs. Sanders had a PhD in “mother-wit”, wisdom, understanding, love, caring, compassion, and plain old common sense. She was a faithful member and Mother of the Church, of Bethel Logos Christian Fellowship Center, Oberlin. She was also active in her neighborhood, and her community, always caring for others more than herself. In May, 2012 she was honored by the WIN Unit of the Elyria N.A.A.C.P., who awarded her the title of Grandmother of the Year.
