Henry Ceja, 83, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Lorain on July 15, 1929 and had been a lifelong resident.
Henry proudly served his Country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had worked as a Crane Operator for 42 years at U.S. Steel and had also worked for ODOT for six years.
Henry was a member of the Elyria Moose Club and had attended Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain and Lorain Baptist Church. He enjoyed travel, especially going to the Casinos, cooking and shooting pool, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Dora (nee Morgan) Ceja; daughters, Sarah (Mark) Botson of North Ridgeville and Faith (Loren) Schramm of Camden Township; son, Joseph (Rebecca) Ceja of Virginia; granddaughters, Brittany, Alex, Chenoa, Moriah, Becky and Heather; grandsons, Jonathon, Jacob and Joseph; four great grandchildren; brothers, Theodore Ceja of Lorain and Jesse (Shirley) Ceja of California; sister, Frances Flores of Lorain; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Jose and Esperanza Ceja; and his brother, Abel Ceja.
Friends may call Monday, November 19, 2012, from 4 until 8 P.M., at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Township, where a prayer service will be held at 7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain at 10 AM. (Please meet at the Church). Burial will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
