Friday, Nov. 16
1:20 p.m. — Midway Mall, Eida Ribas, 41, 3800 block Meadow Lane, Lorain, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct persisting. Police said Ribas cursed at an officer and at several patrons who were entering the mall. Police said Ribas refused to leave the area, was arrested and banned from the mall.
8:07 p.m. —100 block Bohannon Court, a 13-year-old girl said a boy, approximately 15, insulted her and punched her in the face while she was walking with friends on Pratt Boulevard near Hodge Court. The girl told police the boy said his shoes were worth more money than her whole outfit and then punched her in the face, unprovoked, then punched her three more times after she hit back in self defense.
11:59 p.m. — Cascade Street and Lake Avenue, police chased a suspect who exited his vehicle during a traffic stop and ran. The officer fell several times during the chase, injuring his arm, and the suspect, who has an active warrant and a suspended license, escaped.
Friday, Nov. 16
4:48 p.m. — 300 block W. Sixth St., Jose M. Moyet, 32, 300 block W. 15th St. arrested and charged with assault. Lorain Public Library patron said Moyet, who was sitting at a computer next to him at the library, started mumbling to him and then punched him in the face. The man said he had never spoken to Moyet, and a person at the library reported witnessing the attack. Police said Moyet was hiding in an alley next to the Lorain Palace Theatre.
8:28 p.m. — 2100 block E. 40th St. reported burglary of unoccupied home.
9:57 p.m. — East 28th Street and Toledo Avenue, Roberta Huff, 48, 1200 block Shaffer Drive, arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and weaving.
11:35 p.m. — 1400 block Colorado Ave., Adam Yager, 31, 2400 block Jackson St., arrested and charged with physical control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated and state refusal. Police said Yager was intoxicated and vomiting while in his parked car in the Wendy’s parking lot.
Saturday, Nov. 17
2:11 a.m. — 2300 block E. 30th Street, Jarvis L. Perkins, 27, 200 block E. 32nd Street, arrested and charged with assault. Perkins’ cousin said Perkins punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground, kicking and punching her.
8:30 a.m. — 1900 block E. 32nd St., reported theft of a purse from a vehicle. The purse contained $850 in cash, and $250 was stolen from the vehicle’s center console. Police found the purse later at the Oakwood Park basketball courts, but the money was missing.
