Police were on patrol around 12:17 a.m. Friday when officers were dispatched to a fight in progress on East 30th Street and Globe Avenue. An anonymous caller reported hearing two gunshots during the fight.
Police met with a woman at the scene who told officers that her brother had been involved in a feud with her boyfriend and the father of her children. The woman said she and her boyfriend were driving home when they were approached by her brother and a group of men who challenged her boyfriend to a fight.
She said her brother threw what was later determined to be a “Power Wheels battery,” shattering the window of her vehicle. She denied any weapons were involved, according to a police report.
The woman’s boyfriend said he walked out of the car to fight but decided against it when he saw he was outnumbered. He was then “stabbed” by a man with an unknown object that cut his finger.
