Roger Fischer, Sr., 74, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, at St. John Medical Center in Westlake, following a lengthy illness. He was born July 10, 1938 in Elyria. Prior to moving to Cleveland, Mr. Fischer resided in Avon and was a lifetime resident of the area. He formerly owned and operated Fischer Trucking and Grading in Avon for many years. Mr. Fischer loved Mack Trucks and he owned several throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by one son, Roger, Jr. and his wife, Tracey Arturo of West Point, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew, Amanda, Sam, Cody, Olivia and Zane; three sisters, Ruth Block-Knox, and Lillian Ryant, both of Elyria, and Lois Paradowski of North Carolina; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; and his brother, Lester.
The family will receive friends Sunday November 25, 2012, from 3 until 7 P.M., at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be Monday, November 26, 2012, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home, with Reverend Brian Gardiner officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
