Joseph C. Kiser

Joseph C. Kiser, 80, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 22, 2012 at EMH Healthcare in Elyria. He was born April 9, 1932 in Ripley, West Virginia.

Joe served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1984 as an electrician for Harshaw Chemical in Elyria. He enjoyed playing guitar with local bands, watching westerns, camping and travel.

Survivors include three daughters, Dusty Kiser and Penny Barbee (Keith), both of Elyria, DeeDee Mincy of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sons, Daniel Kiser (Julie) of Elyria, Roland Loescher (Kim) of Sheffield Lake; additional survivors include a sister, Lillian Comer of West Virginia; brother, Neil Kiser (Delphia) of West Virginia; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Nancy Lee (nee Johnson); granddaughter, Lindsay Loescher; parents, Carlos and Hazel (nee Presley) Kiser; two sisters, Phyllis Shugg, Bonnie Fisher; two brothers, Herbert and Jim; and two sons-in-law, Richard Crenshaw and Robert Mincy.

Friends may call 4 to 7 P.M., Tuesday November 27, 2012 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, (440) 322-4626, where funeral services will be at 10 A.M., Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Pastor Chuck Leninger of Elyria Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria, where V.F.W. Post 1079 will provide full military honors.
