Ethel L. Wilford (nee Fritsch), 94, of Elyria Township, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at her home. She was born May 16, 1918 in Cleveland, raised in Fairview Park and was a 1936 graduate of Fairview High School.
Ethel had lived in Avon before moving to Elyria in 1945 and at one time was employed at Halle Brothers in Cleveland and The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company.
Mrs. Wilford was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and a former member of the Elyria Y.W.C.A., Fourthurs, Artcrafters and The Archeological Society of Ohio. Ethel was a devoted mother and homemaker and enjoyed dancing and playing golf with her beloved husband.
Other interests included archeology, genealogy, art, nature and reading.
Mrs. Wilford is survived by her sons, Mark A. and Michael E. Wilford, both of Elyria; daughter, Barbara L. “Kelly” Wilford of Middleton, Wisconsin; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clarence G. “Bud” Wilford in 1994; and parents, Albert and Lenora (nee Kelly) Fritsch.
A graveside service for the family was held Monday, November 26, 2012 at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, with Reverend Charles J. Ryba officiating.
