LORAIN — “Move that snowman” may be the cry next week when TV’s Ty Pennington comes to town to give a local family a holiday re-do.
Pennington, host of ABC-TV’s “Extreme Makeover,” will visit Lorain on Dec. 6 with a team of workers from Sears, who are sponsoring the “Merry Makeover” contest that drew the name of a local family from thousands of entries as the winner of a nationwide holiday-themed makeover.
“They’ll be decking out the house inside and out with holiday decor,” Amanda Coyne, a Sears spokeswoman said.
The makeover will include outdoor lighting and Christmas tree ornaments that are part of holiday-themed lines of merchandise Pennington is promoting through the retailer.
The makeover is not affiliated with Pennington’s popular “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” which airs on ABC-TV, Coyne said.
Pennington and his Sears team are expected to arrive at the winning family’s home by mid-morning and work into the late afternoon, Coyne said.
The winning family will be identified at a future date.
