Police received the report at 2:06 a.m. that a black Ford Fusion was driving around the area and shots were being fired from the car. Police found a vehicle matching the description at an apartment complex at 1427 Herbert Drive.
Police said the vehicle was warm to the touch, as if it had been recently driven. A man, later identified as Shawn Bresock, 26, approached the vehicle, but starting walking away when he saw a police officer, according to a police report.
Police said Bresock appeared nervous, so he was stopped and questioned about the shooting. Bresock told police the Ford Fusion was his, but he would not answer questions about the shooting.
Police arrested and charged Bresock with obstructing official business. He was requested to submit a breath test, but he declined.
During the investigation, Bresock’s sister, Jessica Bresock, 18, told police that she shot the gun. Shawn Bresock later told officers that he had shot the gun, and his sister Jessica was covering for him.
Police completed a gun shot residue test on both Shawn and Jessica Bresock and charged both of them with discharging firearms. The results of that test were not listed.
