Sunday, Dec. 2

6:20 a.m. — 2000 block Wallace Lane, Alejandro Garcia-Ramirez, 29, 3100 block Broadway, charged with disturbing the peace, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct intoxicated. Garcia-Ramirez was arrested after a woman reported he was trying to get into her home and kept ringing her doorbell. Garcia-Ramirez, who was sleeping outside in a box when an officer arrived, told police he was trying to get into his home, but his wife wouldn’t let him in. Police said Garcia-Ramirez was intoxicated and his home was several miles away.

11:16 a.m. — 1000 block W. 11th St., two 3-foot-tall candy cane decorations stolen from the front of a home. A resident told police thefts of Christmas decorations are frequent in the area during the holiday season.

7:10 p.m. — 4400 block Camden Ave., reported burglary of a home.

9:45 p.m. — 2900 block Seneca Ave., Alan A. Saunders, 22, same address, charged with assault and resisting arrest. A man told police Saunders “came out of nowhere,” punching him and knocking him to the ground before running away. Saunders denied the assault but said the owed the man money for illegal narcotics and the man had been repeatedly harassing him.

9:15 a.m. — 4400 block Palm Ave., report of attempted burglary of a home.

12:55 a.m. — 200 block S. Professor St., game system and games taken in burglary.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

5:54 p.m. — South Park Street, Michael Ramirez, 19, of Oberlin, cited for domestic violence after allegedly throwing an ashtray and striking an individual in the home.

6:36 p.m. — Locust Street, mother of juvenile facing charges regarding an alleged assault in 2011 complained that a juvenile officer approached her son and asked, “Do you know where we have to go tomorrow?” regarding his appearance in Lorain County Juvenile Court. The mother said she wanted the juvenile officer to stay away from her son.

Saturday, Nov. 17

1:58 a.m. — South Main Street at Groveland Street, Jordan Kirk, 24, of Vermilion, charged with OVI, blood-alcohol content over limits and no headlights after a traffic stop.

10:30 p.m. — State Route 58, deer struck by motorist near South Street.

2:12 p.m. — 100 block Carpenter St., Jamichael Randalman, 21, of New London, charged with theft in connection with allegations he took $250 from an Elyria woman for a television and PlayStation 3 and did not give her the items.

Wednesday, Nov. 28

6 p.m. — 700 block Shiloh Ave., woman reports theft of 800 mg ibuprofen tablets from the locker room at Whirlaway Corp.

7:40 p.m. — 500 block S. Main St., Casey John Scott Schroeder, 19, of Wellington, cited with no operator’s license and possession of marijuana.

4:13 p.m. — 200 block Sheila Drive, woman reports her son was bitten by a dog while jogging with another youth.

Friday, Nov. 30

5:16 p.m. — 200 block Wenner St., woman reported harassing phone calls and signed a temporary protection order against an ex-boyfriend.

Saturday, Dec. 1

11:33 p.m. — 200 block E. Herrick Ave., Jeffrey Kent, 18, of Wellington, cited with driving under suspension and failing to drive within marked lanes.

Sunday, Dec. 2

2:38 a.m. — 200 block N. Main St., Joseph F. Yoder, 37, of Wellington, charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication after argument outside the Mosey Inn.
