2:21 a.m. — 7600 block West River Road S., police said an empty home appeared to have been broken into through the back door. A security camera was found ripped off the wall near the door to the kitchen. Muddy footprints were found inside the home. The homeowner’s car was in the driveway, but police said he couldn’t be found.
8:36 p.m. — Police Department, 18 West Ave., police said a man who bought a car that had been impounded played voice mails from the prior owner, including one in which the prior owner threatened to kill the man. A menacing complaint was sent to the prosecutor’s office.
Saturday, Dec. 8
4:03 a.m. — 2500 block W. Erie Ave., Shamonica Davis, 33, 1200 block of Pennsylvania Ave., Lorain, charged with criminal trespassing. Police said Davis was arrested after being warned 30 minutes earlier not to stand outside a resident’s apartment. The resident told police Davis is delusional and obsessed with him and has previously urinated in the hallway outside his apartment.
5:17 a.m. — 2200 Lorain Drive, Andrew Hodge, 21, 100 block Pratt Blvd., Elyria, charged with domestic violence, but not arrested. Hodge’s girlfriend said he argued with her about not having enough room in the bed he was sleeping in with her and their child. The girlfriend, who police said had a swollen and bloody lip, said when she tried to stop him with leaving with $51 of hers, he hit her in the mouth. Police said Hodge was gone when they arrived.
5:51 p.m. — Crehore St. and Missouri Ave., Officer Richard Broz said a mixed Chihuahua/Jack Russell terrier was severely injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. Broz said he fatally shot the dog to put it out of its misery.
Sunday, Dec. 9
12:57 a.m. — 800 block W. 23rd St., Mark Artis, 19, same address, arrested and charged with felonious assault. A man, who police said had cuts and welts on his head, said Artis shot him several times in the head with a high-powered BB pistol.
2:44 a.m. — Bascule Bridge, W. Erie Ave., Terry Payne, 44, 200 block Winckles St., Elyria, arrested and charged with drunken driving, speeding, improper lane changes, expired registration and a seat belt violation. Police said Payne was stopped for speeding and changing lanes without signaling. They said he failed a field sobriety test and registered a 0.137 blood alcohol content in a portable breath test. They said he refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

8:12 a.m. — 2100 Center Road, police sent to American Red Cross offices on report of a theft.

9:29 p.m. — 365500 block Chester Road, Matthew R. Wenzler, 22, charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated after police said he crashed his vehicle into a large stone on an entrance road into the Village at Avon Apartments.
Sunday, Dec. 2
5:14 a.m. — 32120 Detroit Road, Avon Import Auto Clinic reported someone inside the business. Police checked the business but found no one.
3:10 p.m. — 36100 block Shade Tree Trail, officers investigated reports of a disturbance.
Tuesday, Dec. 4
6:46 a.m. — 37500 block French Creek Road, resident reported her house was burglarized.
4:11 p.m. — 35906 Detroit Road, Andrea D. Baumbick, 20, charged with theft in connection with an incident at Kohl’s Department Store.
4:25 p.m. — 1600 Center Road, Best Buy employees store reported a man stole two laptops valued at $2,000.

6:02 p.m. — 3500 block Napa Blvd., 51-year-old woman told police she was assaulted by her husband at their home.
