ELYRIA — Ever since he was a little boy, Kameron Howes has been looking forward to the moment he turned 12 today.

“It’s the 12th day of the 12th month in 2012 at 12 midnight,” he said.

Angela Elkins, his mom, remembers the moment he was born.

“The doctor said, ‘You won’t believe it — he was born at midnight,’ ” she recalled. “Everything has been 12, 12, 12, 12 for him.”

Kameron, a sixth-grader at Eastern Heights Middle School, said he’s been aware of all the 12s in his life since he was about 4 or 5.

“I think of it a lot — how weird it is,” he said. “On the trampoline, my record is 12 backflips in a row.”

His stepdad, Kenneth Schuster, said his stepson isn’t sure whether he would be awake at midnight on a school night to see the 12s align.

“He usually goes to bed at 8 and wakes up at 5, so I don’t think he’ll be up, but he said he’s going to try,” Schuster said.
