Lorain police

Monday, Dec. 10

11:23 a.m. —1200 block W. 40th St., resident said he found the door to his detached garage open and an old wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the garage.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

2:13 p.m. — 400 block Delaware Ave., resident said two garages were broken into on Sunday night, and she suspects her daughter’s boyfriend. Police said a lock was cut and plywood was pushed in to gain entry and $1,900 worth of tools were stolen.

4:20 p.m. — 4100 block Meadow Lane, grandmother of a juvenile under house arrest with an ankle monitor after being charged with a rash of burglaries said he escaped through a basement window. Police charged the boy, whom they said is a habitual runaway, with escape.

7:47 p.m. — 200 block W. 13th St., Kenneth West, 64, 300 block W. 23rd St., Lorain, arrested and charged with trespassing. A resident said West repeatedly came to her home looking for an ex-girlfriend after being told not to return.

9:25 p.m. — 3700 block Toledo Ave., woman said driver’s side window of car she parked on the street was shattered, and she suspects a former co-worker who was fired due to statements she made.

11:27p.m. — Broadway and East 28th Street, Timoteo Ocasio, 31, 1300 block W. Seventh St., Lorain, arrested and charged with drunken driving. Police said they stopped Ocasio for running a red light, and he appeared drunk and failed a field sobriety test. They said he registered 0.141 on a Breathalyzer test before refusing to continue the test. Police said Ocasio has two drunken driving convictions.

11:31 p.m. — West 30th Street and Washington Avenue, Darieon Farris, 18, 1400 block W. 14th St., Lorain, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, a stop-sign violation and possession of marijuana. Police said they stopped Farris for not stopping at a stop sign, and he had a small amount of marijuana on him.

Thursday, Dec. 13

2:19 a.m. — Dairy Mart, 2802 Broadway, Joseph Glenn, 20, 2300 block E. 30th St., Lorain, arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon under disability. Police said they suspected Glenn was making a drug transaction with someone in a car in the store parking lot and stopped him as he was walking away. They said they found a semiautomatic pistol on him and bullets in a plastic bag. Police said Glenn has convictions for abduction and robbery.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

7:25 a.m. — 100 block Valley Forge Circle, reported theft of a red 2000 Chevy Express work van. The keys were left in the vehicle overnight. Police later found the vehicle on Brunswick Drive and returned it to the owner. A GPS unit in the vehicle was reported missing.

5:04 p.m. — 400 block Berkshire Drive, theft of a television, Wii game system, cell phone, video recorder and cash from a home. Neighbors told police they saw two 20- to 22-year-old white males, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches and 6 feet in height, in the driveway of a woman’s home. The men, who weighed between 170 and 180 pounds, were wearing fluorescent “construction type” jackets. A neighbor said the men were traveling in a blue or black small compact vehicle with two females in the car.

Thursday, Dec. 13

7:26 a.m. — 100 block West Ave., a man reported that his daughter’s rental trumpet had been stolen from the band room at Northwood Middle School. The trumpet was rented through Driscoll’s Music in Lorain and is valued at $700.

LaGrange police

Thursday, Dec. 6

4:30 a.m. — 100 block Public Square, resident complained that he was “being followed and videotaped.” He also was hearing voices. He was transported to EMH for an evaluation.

2 p.m. — Granger Road, complaint of a pig running in the road. The pig was captured and returned.

Friday, Dec. 7

4:20 a.m. — Public Square, while police officers were conducting building checks, they located an open door at a business. They reset the alarm and secured the door.

Monday, Dec. 10

4:59 p.m. — South Center Street, report of a possible drunk driver. Police officers located and stopped the vehicle but the driver was not impaired.

Monday, Dec. 3

6:44 p.m. — 1000 block Wellfleet Drive, vandalism to planters.

6:47 p.m. — 1000 block Plymouth Drive, vandalism to Christmas lights.

7:02 p.m. — 1000 block Yarmouth Road, man reported ice cream cones from McDonald’s were thrown at his sliding glass door.

7:31 p.m. — 1000 block Scituate Court, vandalism to Christmas decorations on property.

8:46 p.m. — 1000 block Plymouth Drive, vandalism to Christmas decorations and nativity scene on property.

9:42 p.m. — 1000 block Wellfleet Drive, vandalism to Christmas decorations on property.

Tuesday, Dec. 4

10:34 a.m. — 400 block Main St., Grafton Sparkle, attempted breaking and entering during the night.

Wednesday, Dec. 5

7:35 a.m. — 1000 block Wellfleet Drive, vandalism to Christmas lights.

Thursday, Dec. 6

3:55 p.m. — Grafton Police Department, a woman arrived at the station in reference to someone writing checks from a local Boy Scouts troop account.

11:29 p.m. — 1000 block Vivian Drive, a woman reported that her neighbor who drives a black Mustang was performing “burn outs” out of his drive-way at random times during the night.

Friday, Dec. 7

12:23 p.m. — McDonald’s, Main Street, report of a customer in the drive-through who was falling asleep.
