He graduated from Grafton High School and served in the U.S. Army, he bravely fought for his country during the Vietnam War. Alan was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of AmVets and Disabled American Veterans. He loved spending time with his wife and family and enjoyed trains and being outdoors.
Mr. Tran is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Virginia (nee Dull); children, Scott Dull and Kim Uline (Mark), both of Sheffield Lake; granddaughters, Kaila and Cassandra; sisters, Margaret “Marge” Sayers and Phyllis VanKerkhove (Joe), both of Grafton.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffery Alan; parents, Mark and LaRene (nee Jones); step mother, Ruth Opfer; brother, Jim Tran; and brother-in-law, Ted Sayers.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, from 4 to 7 P.M., Sunday, December 16, 2012. Service will be at the funeral home Monday, December 17, 2012 at 11 A.M. Busch Celebrant, Connie Smith, will officiate. Committal services will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, where Military Honors will be observed.
