Matthew C. Martin, 38, of Sheffield Village, died unexpectedly Friday, December 14, 2012. He suffered a massive heart attack and was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital.
Matthew was born in El Salvador in 1974, was adopted and brought to his new home in November of 1977, together with his new sister, Kimberly, also born in El Salvador. He lived in Sheffield Village, graduating from Brookside High School in 1993. In 2004 Matthew’s birth family located him after searching for many years and they were all reunited that year.
Matthew is survived by his three beautiful children, Andrew, Anwyn and Danikah, along with his mother, Sandra (Conrad) Martin; father, Charles D. Martin; sister, Kimberly Martin; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his intended fiancee, Christina Tucker of Lorain. Matthew is also survived by members of his birth family: mother, Felix Maria Rodriguez of El Salvador; brothers, Rodesno Rivas and Hugo Rodriguez; and sister, Marlene Avrego, all of Las Vegas, and his brothers, Antonio Rodriguez and Oscar Rivas; and sister, Hayme Esmeralda Rodriguez, all of El Salvador.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leroy and Winifred Conrad, and by his birth father.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 beginning at 5 P.M. Visitation will be followed by a brief service at 7:30 P.M. officiated by Reverend Edward Luca. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
