Ronald L. Hawke, 73, of North Ridgeville, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic, following a short illness. He was born in Berea and grew up in Columbia Township. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 45 years.
He was a brick layer, working with the Brick Layers Union Local 5 since the age of 19, until retiring in 2003. Mr. Hawke was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of VFW Post 7035, Avon.
Survivors include his children, Kevin (Pam) Hawke of Valley City, Curtis (Cindy) Hawke of Grafton, Renee Hawke (David Glacken) of N. Ridgeville, Thomas (Kathy) Padley of Brazil, Edward (Monica) Padley of Olmsted Township, Cindy (Bob) Schiavoni of Litchfield; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Joan (Bruce) Foster of Grafton; and brothers, Terry (Sandy) Hawke of Grafton and Larry Hawke of Loudonville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian, last year; and his parents, Webb and Kathleen Hawke.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 19, 2012, from 4 until 7 P.M., at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, December 20, 2012. Burial will follow in Columbia Township Cemetery.
