EATON TWP. — A 29-year-old woman is dead, and a man has been charged in her death.
According to sheriff’s Capt. James Drozdowski, deputies found Melanie Hruby dead in an acquaintance’s home at 10140 Avon Belden Road last night.
Adam Grimes, 25, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and felonious assault. He is in the Lorain County Jail.
Deputies were called to the home about 11:15 p.m. after Grimes called someone and told them he had done something horrible to a woman and thought she was dead. The concerned citizen called authorities, Drozdowski said.
Deputies arrived to find Grimes outside the home and took him into custody.
Hruby’s body was found in the home with “obvious signs of blunt force trauma,” Drozdowski said.
Drozdowski could not say where in the home her body was found.
Drozdowski said he believes Hruby did not live in the home with Grimes but said he is unsure where she lived.
Drozdowski said the coroner will rule on the official cause of death and determine what weapon was used.
