Elizabeth “Jackie” Swope, 81, of Wellington, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at home. Born February 7, 1931 in LaGrange to the late Russell and Bernice (nee Clapp) Kelly, Elizabeth spent most of her life in Sullivan.
Elizabeth was a nurse’s aid and loved her work in nursing homes. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially plastic canvas. Most of all, Elizabeth cherished her grandchildren and the time that she spent with them.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Karen (Dave) Godsey of Wellington; grandchildren; Christina (Dan) Rainey, Russell (Brandi) Godsey, and Kelly (Joseph) McKenna; great grandchildren, Mathew and Samuel Rainey, Steven and MiKailah Godsey, Tyler Hatfield, Richie and Hannah Ingrassia, and Dominic and Quintin Mckenna. Survivors also include her siblings, Betty Lowe and Richard Ben Kelly.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Paul Swope; her daughter, Beverly Denbow; sister, Jean Burden; and a brother, Jr. Kelly.
A private family service will be held and burial will take place at Sullivan Southview Cemetery.
