EATON TWP. — The family of Melanie Hruby, the 29-year-old single mother killed Tuesday, has set up a fund to help cover funeral expenses and to help Hruby’s 4-year-old son, Brandon Hruby.
Marcia Hruby, the victim’s sister, said those interested in donating can stop by any Fifth-Third Bank location to make a donation to the Melanie Hruby Memorial Fund. The account is under the name of Deborah Beck, Hruby’s mother.
Lorain County Sheriff’s deputies are still investigating Hruby’s slaying, but they have charged 25-year-old Adam Grimes with aggravated murder and felonious assault in connection with the killing.
Hruby’s body, which showed signs of blunt force trauma, was found inside Grimes’ Avon Belden Road home. Grimes was arrested outside the house.
