Sunday, Dec. 16

12:10 a.m. — 100 block Floral Court, Kenneth Norfus, 54, 3000 block Fulmer Road, and Kier Wilson, 19, 100 block Floral Court, issued a citation for assault. Police were sent to the area for a fight. Officers arrived to find Norfus with a laceration above his left eye. Wilson told police he assaulted Norfus because Norfus was picking on his stepfather and had pushed him. Norfus told police he was a judo expert and “beat Kier’s (expletive).”

1:05 p.m. — 100 block West Ave., reported damage to a vehicle, parked in the parking lot of the Harry Buffalo.

8:15 p.m. — 800 block Allen St., theft of two televisions during a home burglary. The burglar gained entry into the home by breaking through a window near the door.

Monday, Dec. 17

12:21 a.m. — 7500 block West River Road S., theft of an Xbox system and video games during a home burglary. Police said a kitchen door was kicked in by the burglar.

8:45 a.m. — 600 block Cleveland St., reported theft from a vehicle in the parking lot of Hazel’s Restaurant. The vehicle’s owner said she realized her vehicle’s lock was broken and a person had entered her unlocked vehicle, stealing a beach bag with $1,400 in cash, the title to the vehicle and the vehicle’s license plate registration.

5:10 p.m. — 100 block David Drive, Ernest E. Anderson, 51, 300 block Eighth St., arrested and charged with theft and issued a citation for possession of marijuana. Police said Anderson stole a pair of gloves from Sears at the Midway Mall and later fled. Police found Anderson later and found that he had marijuana in his pocket.

6:30 p.m. — Lake Avenue, Sadao M. Waters, 27, 1000 block Barbara St., arrested on a bench warrant for driving under suspension and charged with possession of crack cocaine. Police said Waters was a passenger during a traffic stop, and police discovered a bag of crack cocaine hidden in his underwear. Waters allegedly told police, “Sir, that bag was all I had, I swear. I was just tryin’ to do a little something before Christmas.”

8:01 p.m. — 200 block Fourth Street, a television and several electronics reported stolen from a home. Police said the suspect broke a window near the door to gain entry into the home.

Friday, Dec. 14

7:04 p.m. — 900 block Oberlin Ave., John Freeman, 45, 400 block Washington Ave., Lorain, Phillip Hohn 52, 200 block W. Eighth St., Lorain, each arrested and charged with burglary. Police said they found Freeman and Hohn watching television in the living room of a home with the front door kicked in. The resident of the home told police she let Freeman and his girlfriend stay the night but told them not to come back after they left in the morning. She said she returned home to find her front door frame splintered and Freeman and Hohn in the home. She said Freeman offered her beer and cigarettes in exchange for being allowed to stay and refused to leave.

10:33 p.m. — Police Department, 100 W. Erie Ave., a manager at a rental car company in North Olmsted said an ex-employee who was fired for stealing money threatened her over the phone and was parked outside her home in the 3900 block of Washington Ave. The manager said she drove to the police station with the woman following her until she pulled into the parking lot.

10:42 p.m. — Mercy Regional Medical Center, 3700 Kolbe Road, investigation into the death of a 38-year-old man found slumped over the steering wheel of his car at the intersection of West 37th Street and Palm Avenue, around 9:25 p.m. Matthew Martin, 38, of the 1800 block W. 37th St., had heart problems, his family told police. The death is believed to be from natural causes.

Saturday, Dec. 15

12:27 a.m. — 1000 block W. Ninth St., Charles Wilson, 33, same address, arrested and charged with assault and domestic violence. Wilson’s wife said he became angry when she told him he was too drunk to drive. She said he kicked her in the head while she was holding their 6-month-old baby, causing him to roll onto the floor. Police said they found clumps of the woman’s hair in the living room. The woman’s cousin said Wilson choked him and slammed his head on the floor when he intervened and that he stabbed Wilson with a knife to defend himself. Wilson, whom police said was convicted of domestic violence in 2010, denied fighting with his wife and said he had no idea why her cousin stabbed him.

9:18 a.m. — 4700 block Sycamore Drive, Cecil-Jovan Anderson, 33, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence, obstructing official business, possession of a controlled substance and possession of Schedule III, IV, and V drugs. Anderson’s mother said he threatened her after she refused to give him her car keys. Police said they found pills on Anderson whom they said has two drug convictions.

9:52 a.m. — 300 block Root Road, tools reported stolen from a truck. Police said the truck appeared to have been broken into with a wooden-handled shovel that was found near the vehicle.

10:06 a.m. — Baumhart Storage, 6201 Baumhart Road, police said multiple storage units burglarized and $9,745 in belongings stolen.

10:28 a.m. — Anchor Storage, 800 F St., employee said six storage units had padlocks cut and were entered, but he was unsure what was stolen.

10:56 a.m. — 3900 block Gary Ave., Todd Miller, 47, same address, charged with domestic violence, but not arrested. Miller’s wife said he picked up a chair and threatened to hit her with it and shoved her and her daughter when they tried to call police. Todd Miller was gone when police arrived.

11:03 a.m. — AA Discount Storage, 1807 G St., manager said seven padlocks to storage units were cut and the units were entered.

11:23 a.m. — 1400 block Herbert Drive, Javier A. Rivera, 25, 1500 block E. 29th St., arrested and charged with domestic violence. Rivera’s girlfriend, whom police said had a bruise on left side of her face and a cut lip, said he slapped her after they argued about going Christmas shopping.

11:54 a.m. — 2200 block Tower Blvd., Christopher Lanning, 25, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Lanning’s girlfriend said Lanning threw a baking pan at her head after an argument over the utility bill. Lanning admitted to throwing the pan but said he didn’t intend to hit the woman.

1:10 p.m. — 2000 block E. 30th St., resident said van he parked in driveway overnight burglarized with $3,000 in tools stolen.

6:49 p.m. — 3900 block Reid Ave., Michael Dejesus, 23, same address, arrested and charged with assault. A 17-year-old youth said Dejesus got out of a car and punched him in the jaw as he was walking in the trailer park. Dejesus denied punching the youth whom he said he pushed because the youth had previously stolen from several people in the neighborhood.

Sunday, Dec. 16

12:05 p.m. — 600 block E. 34th St., theft of license plates from a vehicle.

1:03 p.m. — 2700 block Broadway, Gilbert Peguero, 51, homeless, arrested and charged with criminal trespass. A manager at Walgreens said Peguero was asked to leave the store several times after asking customers for money and smoking in the store. The manager said Peguero didn’t leave until officers were on the way to the store.

4:05 p.m. — 100 block W. Erie Ave., theft of two iPhone 5s from a vehicle.

8:34 p.m. — 4200 block Pearl Ave., a woman told police her niece saw someone crawling out of her bedroom window. Nothing was reported missing, and the girl could not provide police with a description of the burglar because she only saw the person’s bottom half.

10:46 p.m. — Cleveland, an officer was sent to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for a 21-year-old Lorain woman with a broken orbital. The woman told police she received the injury after fighting with her cousin, who she said pushed her 2-year-old daughter. The woman would not cooperate with police, saying that she had started the fight and did not want to pursue charges. Police were unable to obtain any information that could locate the woman’s cousin.

Monday, Dec. 17

12:54 a.m. — 1000 block Kingsway Drive, Omar Bradley, 25, 2600 block Meister Road, arrested and charged with burglary. Police arrested Bradley during a domestic argument with his girlfriend. Bradley had reported burglarized his ex-girlfriend’s home Sunday, breaking her lamp and stealing her cell phone and tablet.

2:25 a.m. — 1600 block Leavitt Road, police were searching for a man who reportedly assaulted the mother of his child and threatened her with a handgun. The man then fled from the home, but officers could not locate him. He faces domestic violence, disrupting public service and aggravated burglary charges.
