Police were called to the 500 block of Ironwood Court at 4:46 a.m. Sunday after the homeowner, Tommy Fluker Jr., 35, called police.
According to Elyria police Lt. Chris Costantino, Fluker is dating Arrianna Horton, 43, who is going through a divorce with her husband, Hampe Horton, 41. Both Fluker and Arrianna Horton have a protection order against Hampe Horton, who has been accused of making threats against them.
Fluker told police he and Arrianna Horton were in the bedroom of his home when they saw a light outside the window. Fluker said he then heard a voice, which he recognized as Hampe Horton’s.
Costantino said Fluker then grabbed a .22-caliber pistol, firing an unknown number of rounds through the wall of his home in the direction of Hampe Horton. Costantino said Fluker did not call police prior to shooting at Hampe Horton.
According to police, Fluker then ran outside as Hampe Horton was leaving in his vehicle, and he fired several more rounds at him before calling police.
Costantino said officers pulled Hampe Horton over as he was driving on Warden Avenue. Hampe Horton initially denied being at Fluker’s home but later admitted that he had been shot in the stomach.
“He was wearing a heavy jacket. … That’s probably what saved him from being injured more,” Costantino said.
Hampe Horton was taken to Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was later released with non-life-threatening injuries.
No one has been charged as police investigate the incident.
