Ethel Louise Miller (nee Wilcox), 83, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, following a brief illness. She was born November 22, 1929 in Wellington.
Ethel was raised in Rochester, Ohio, graduating from Brighton High School in the class of 1949. She had made her home in Amherst since 1952.
Her primarily focus in life was that of being a homemaker. Ethel along with her husband Harry were owners of the Amherst Memorial Studio were she served as the bookkeeper.
Survivors include her sons and their wives, Oron “Ted” and Roberta Miller of Amherst, Alvin and Debbie Miller of Brownhelm Township; her grandchildren, Oron Jr. (Lynn), Aaron (Tammy), Amanda and Allen, Eric (Candy), David (Kelly); great grandchildren Cassidy, Emily, Kyle, Trinity, Tori, Tristan; her sister and her husband, Lillian and Dean Kelsey of LaGrange.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Harry Junior Miller in 1984; her brother, George “Roy” and Oron II “Bud” Wilcox; her sisters, Ireta McQuate and Lucille Hanes; and her parents, Oron and Anna Wilcox (nee Taylor).
Friends may call Saturday, December 29, 2012, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Burial will be at Brownhelm Cemetery, Brownhelm Township.
