Mildred M. “Millie” Szczepanski-McCloskey (nee Sullivan), 84, of Grafton, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange, following a brief illness. She was born March 17, 1928 in Gilmer County, West Virginia and was a Grafton resident for most of her life.
Millie was a homemaker and enjoyed working puzzles, gardening, shopping and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy (Joseph Jr.) Pesch of Grafton; sons, David (Lynn) Spanski of Vermilion, Randall (Sherry) Szczepanski of Sheffield Village, and Gerald (Jean) Szczepanski of Grafton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Macel Johnson of Grafton and Marilyn (Joseph) Cameron of Olmsted Township; and brother, Fred (Shirley) Sullivan of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ben Szczepanski and John McCloskey; son, Donald Szczepanski; and sisters, Mabel Meyer, Mary Helen Sullivan and Marjorie Alfred.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 30, 2012, from 1 to 4 P.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Service will be Monday, December 31, 2012, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home. The Reverend Ralph Krall, Pastor of the LaGrange United Methodist Church, will officiate.
