Bruce McElroy, 31, of Lorain, is wanted for a sex offender registration violation. McElroy has a long criminal history of violent charges, according to the Marshals.
One new fugitive was added to the list this month to replace a case that was closed. Byron James is a Cleveland-area fugitive wanted for homicide. James is wanted for an incident from August on the east side of Cleveland in which he is alleged to have pulled up in a vehicle and began shooting at another man. James is alleged to have chased down the victim, shooting him multiple times in the chest and back. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the incident.
All of the fugitives on the “Dangerous Dozen” should be considered dangerous individuals and should not be approached by the general public. Tipsters may remain anonymous and cash rewards are available for information leading to the arrest of any of these fugitives.
Since the inception of the “Dangerous Dozen” program in May 2010, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has apprehended or closed cases on 95 of the 106 fugitives profiled on this list. Of the 95 apprehended, 55 were a direct result of the exposure from the media and assistance of the public.
