Offices to be closed for New Year’s holiday

County offices, including courts, will be closed today and Tuesday for the New Year’s holiday.

• The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver New Year’s Day, according to the agency’s website.
• Avon and Avon Lake city halls will be closed New Year’s Day, but will be open regular hours today.
• Elyria City Hall will close at noon today and be closed New Year’s Day.
• The offices of The Chronicle-Telegram will close at 1 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
• Trash collections in Elyria won’t take place Tuesday, so from Wednesday through Friday, trash pickup will be delayed a day. Those communities serviced by Republic Services also won’t see garbage pickup New Year’s Day and trash collection will be delayed by a day for the rest of the week.
• The city of Amherst offices will be closed all day today and New Year’s Day.
• Grafton Village Hall will be open 8 a.m. to noon today and closed New Year’s Day.
• Lorain City Hall will be closed on New Year’s Day.
• North Ridgeville City Hall will be closed New Year’s Day but open today.
• Sheffield Lake City Hall will be closed today and New Year’s Day.
• Sheffield Village Hall will be closed on New Year’s Day.
• Wellington City Hall will be closed New Year’s Day.
