60th Anniversary – Roling

Ralph & Lois Roling

Ralph A. and Lois M. (nee Faragher) Roling of Avon, were married 60 years ago on January 3, 1953 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. The Rev. Joseph Lembach officated. Ralph was a home builder, and maintenance man at Holy Trinity Church, Avon, and for the last 13 years, before he retired in March 1994, was in charge of all custodial and maintenance for Avon Schools. He served in the Army Transportation Corps in Korea in 1951-52. Ralph was a collector of miniature toy farm implements and is a founding member of the National Farm Toy Museum in Dyersville, Iowa.
Lois worked at Thew Shovel and for 22 years, before she retired in February 1992, was a bus driver for Avon Schools. Her home was always open to entertain family and friends. Lois and Ralph have five daughters, Denise (Craig) Buck of Wakeman, Diane (Tom) Martin of Field, Ontario, Canada, Donna (Kyle) Hartman of Morgantown, West Virginia, Doreen (Ken) Bartlett of Sunbury, Ohio, and Dawn (Peter) Galant of North Ridgeville; 13 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Both,Lois and Ralph enjoy showing off their restored 1939 John Deere BO and Eicher tractors at the LaGrange Engine Show. They also enjoy getaways to the Mountaineer Casino in West Virginia. A small family gathering is planned to celebrate their 60thAnniversary.
