David graduated from EHS in 1967 and drafted into the U.S. Army and enlisted into the U.S. Marines, serving in Vietnam. He retired from Fisher Body in Elyria and was co-owner of Uncle Bobs Coffee Shop, Eastlake, for five years.
He vacationed yearly for 35 years in Key West and was an active member of the Pirates Fest. He was an artist, chef, an active Jack Sparrow impersonator and an avid player of Star Wars Angry Birds.
He is survived by his companion, Fred Hopkins of Eastlake; sisters, Debbie (Jerry) Hooper of Tionesta, Pennsylvania, Carole (Todd) Weegmann of LaGrange; sister-in-law, Margie Mason of Elyria; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Lois Mason; and brothers, Tommy and Rusty.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 2 to 6 P.M. at the VFW, 500 S. Abbe Rd., Elyria.
