Theodore Earl Carter

Theodore Earl Carter, 71, of Homerville, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Lodi Community Hospital. Mr. Carter was born January 22, 1941, in Lodi, to Theodore Ralph Carter and Gertrude Brinker.

He was a resident of Homerville, Medina County, most of his life, owning Tender Care Landscaping. Mr. Carter served with the U.S. Navy, coached softball, and baseball, and loved hunting and fishing.

Mr. Carter has been married 47 years to Barbara Plank, who survives. Also surviving are children, Steven Carter of Barnesville, and Royanna Jordan of New London; one grandson, Tyler Jordan of New London; two sisters, Rebecca Farnsworth of Malvern, and Dora Hinkle of Mansfield; four brothers, Robert (Terri) Carter of West Salem, John (Kathy) Carter of Ashland, David Gray of Ashland, and George (Linda) Gray of West Salem; and a sister-in-law, Gladys Carter of Ashland.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Carter and Gertrude Gray; brothers, Kenneth Carter, Gary Gray; brother-in-law, Robert Farnsworth; and sister-in-law, Mae Gray.

The family will have visitation Monday evening, January 14, 2013, from 5 until 7 P.M., at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, with John Carter conducting a service at 7 P.M., at the funeral home. The Ashland Veterans Honor Guard, will present military honors also, at 7 P.M.
