The Elyria Post of The State Highway Patrol made the following arrests for operating a vehicle while intoxicated over the past seven days in Lorain County:

- Brian A Tucker, 37, Columbia Station
- Jason Gomez, 24, Lorain
- William G. Nagel, 23, Amherst
- John Merritt, 38, Berea
- Juan C. Torres, 36, Lorain
- Dawn M. Norris, 30, Elyria
- Ronald Johnson Jr, 29, Elyria
- Jerhonda J. Edward, 21, Elyria
- John E. Harris, 29, Lorain
- Joshua T. Grant, 21, Lorain
- Terrance J. Whittaker, 19, Amherst
- Andrew W. Ciszczon, 21, North Ridgeville
- Monica C. Dean, 33, Lorain
This brings the year to date total alcohol related driving arrests to 28.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportaion, in 2011, alcohol-impaired drivers were involved in 4.29 percent of all crashes and 36.35 percent of all fatalities.
The Highway Patrol says remember to “drive sober or get pulled over.”
