Laureen M. Becker, 65, of Henrietta Township, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 13, 2013, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 7, 1947, in Oberlin, grew up in the Wellington area, and has lived in Henrietta Township for the past 42 years.
She was a 1965 graduate of Wellington High School and graduated from the Elyria Beauty Academy. She had worked at various beauty salons throughout the area. She was a lifelong member of the Pittsfield Community Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crafts, sewing, crocheting and camping. Laureen and her husband enjoyed traveling together and attending bluegrass festivals.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Leonard; sisters, Helen (Jere) Simonson, of Wellington, Marjorie (Lloyd) Mull, of Wellington, Linda (Don) Otto, of Limon, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Jeannette (Buchholz) Heatwole; a sister, Judith; and a brother, Thomas.
Friends may call Friday, January 18, 2013, from 4 until 8 P.M., at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, 11 A.M., at the Pittsfield Community Church, 17026 State Route 58, Wellington. Pastor Jonathan Cheatham will be officiating. Private burial will take place at Rugby Cemetery.
