Linda June Bartlome (nee Darnell), 67 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic following a sudden illness. She was born September 5, 1945 in Lorain.
Linda graduated from Firelands High School in the class of 1963. She had lived in Amherst for over 20 years and Elyria for 15 years before moving to Vermilion, where she had made her home for the last five years. Linda was employed as a billing technician for New Life Hospice for 25 years. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church in South Amherst. Her hobbies included camping, and was a member of the racing community and enjoyed watching her sons race at Lorain County and Sandusky Speedways. Linda loved living by Lake Erie and the atmosphere that it created. Being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was her greatest joy in life.
She will be missed by her husband of 47 years, Wayne “Bart” Keith Bartlome; her sons and their wives, Scott and Kim Bartlome of Vermilion, John and Renee Bartlome of Lorain, Matt and Theresa Bartlome of LaGrange; daughters, Chris Lawson and her husband Mike of Grafton, Katie Bartlome and her fiance Woody Lock and Kari Bartlome, both of Vermilion; grandchildren, Renee Bartlome, Niki Bartlome, Tony Bartlome, Kegan Bartlome, Tori Bartlome, Keric Bartlome, Tiffany Bartlome, Taylor Lawson, Alyssa Lawson, Brandon Bartlome, Blake Bartlome, Alexis Bartlome, Kyle Bartlome, Kodi Bartlome, Kortney Bartlome, Jornen Lock and Dalton Lock; and her great granddaughter, Bri’annah Hale; brother, Gary Darnell of Elyria; and her sister, Wanda Kniesel of Oberlin; and her cherish dog, Brady The Almighty Quinn Bartlome.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Horace Darnell; and by her parents, Cyril and Nona Darnell (nee Smith).
Friends may call Friday, January 18, 2013, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 9 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, 11 A.M., in the funeral home. The Reverend John Butchko, Pastor, will officiate.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice Center, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
