Joseph Neil Southworth

Joseph Neil Southworth, 81, of Oberlin, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Allen Mercy Hospital. He was born June 18, 1931, in Franklin, Pennsylvania.

He worked as an electronic technician for the FAA in Oberlin for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He also was a real estate agent for Lehman Johnson and Cobblestone Realty for 10 years. Joseph was an active member of the Oberlin Calvary Baptist Church, having served as a Deacon and treasurer. He played on the FAA golf league as the oldest member and enjoyed playing the game very much.

His survived by his wife, Katherine M. Southworth of Oberlin; sons, Roger N. Southworth of Sandusky and Jeffery N. Southworth of Kempner, Texas; daughter, Janet L. Fisher of Elyria; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Buczak of Depew, New York and Judy Hawk of Liverpool, New York; and brother, Phillip Southworth of Odenton, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles S. Southworth; mother, Vida Southworth; and brother, Richard Southworth.

Visitation will be Monday, January 21, 2013, from 10 A.M., until the Funeral service at 11 A.M., at Oberlin Calvary Baptist Church, Oberlin. Pastor Brian Kenyon will officiate. Interment will be at New Russia Township Cemetery.
