Man flips minivan on state Route 2

ELYRIA TWP. — An Amherst man was injured in a rollover crash on state Route 2 near the Ohio Turnpike split around 12:25 p.m. Sunday.

Phillip Munroe, age and address unavailable, was westbound in the left lane, according to an Ohio Highway Patrol dispatcher.

Munroe was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Jackie Frazier of West Virginia that made an improper lane change, the dispatcher said.

Firefighters needed about 20 minutes to extricate Munroe from his Chrysler minivan, according to firefighter Adam Cassel, who said Munroe was conscious and alert during the rescue.

Munroe was treated and released from MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Further details were unavailable Sunday night.
