Jackie C. “Jack” Jones, 56, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013, at EMH Healthcare, following a sudden illness. He was born January 26, 1956 in Quick, West Virginia, and was an Elyria resident since 1974.
Jack was a self employed mechanic, attended West Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed building street hot rods and going to car shows.
Survivors include his companion, Bonnie Kelly; daughters, Bobbi Jo Yost of Lorain, Bobbie Jean Kelly of Elyria and Jackie Jones of Lorain; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Judy Clark of Elyria; brothers, Douglas Jones and Roy Jones, both of Elyria; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Betty Jones; and a brother, Roger “Bear” Jones in 1991.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 23, 2013, 4 until 7 P.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Thursday, January 24, 2013, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home. The Reverend Bill Fraley will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
