Richard “Junior” Allen Dull, 75, of Grafton, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, following a lengthy illness. He was born December 16, 1937 in Amherst. Richard had made his home in Grafton, since 1958.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Lorain County Garage, for 30 years before retiring in 1985. After retirement, Richard continued working for many companies as a heavy equipment operator. He loved attending the Lorain County Fair, especially the tractor pull, where he was responsible for grading the track. Richard was a long time member of the LaGrange Engine Club. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping and bowling. He loved his family time and enjoyed teaching new things to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Charlotte Dull (nee Holcomb); his sons and their wives, Kenneth and Kelly Dull, Eric and Michelle Dull all of Grafton; his daughter and her husband, Tamara and Merle Cockayne of Elyria; grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Caleb, Amber, Jason, Rachel, Stephane, Evan; his great grandchildren, Damien, Emily and Faith; and his sister, Marge Dull of Vermilion.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” E. Dull; and his parents, Fordyce and Catherine Dull (nee Gouldie).
Friends may call Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Matt Williams, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
