Dallas Tex Butcher, 73, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013.
He was the loving husband of Laura (nee Unger) for 56 years; devoted father of Anna Fitzgerald, John, Brenda, William (Karen) and Amy; proud grandfather of John, Jennifer, Nelson, and Annie; great grandfather of Levi Dallas; beloved brother of Hollis Dale, Richard “Bud”, Carol Shamblin, Jackie Elswick, Jeannie (deceased) and Donna Legg; dear uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Tex was born in Maysel, West Virginia, to Hallie H. and Helen V. (nee Drake) both deceased. Other than a short retirement in Cleveland, Tennesse, he lived most of his adult life in N.E. Ohio and was a hard working and successful business man who owned and operated Sohio/BP service stations and was an owner and partner in the Movie Mart Video chain. Besides his family and friends, he loved his dogs, his garden and Cleveland Indians baseball.
A Memorial Celebration will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to New Life Hospice, 37000 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053 would be appreciated.
