Monday, Jan. 21

7:27 p.m. — 4900 Midway Mall, Sears, Lashaunda Allgood, 19, 200 block Lake Ave., charged with theft after allegedly taking $219.45 worth of merchandise from the store. Latasha Perkins, 19, 6300 block S. Gateway Blvd., charged with theft after allegedly taking $214 worth of merchandise from the store.

Thursday, Jan. 24

1:28 p.m. — 4500 Midway Mall, JCPenney, Catelynne Sagges, 18, 200 block 16th St., Elyria, charged with theft after a store security officer allegedly observed her concealing four shirts valued at $34 into her purse. She was advised to not return to the store.

5:38 p.m. — 400 block Poplar St., theft of four collectible Coors 12-ounce beer cans with sports figures Carlton Fisk, Willie McCovey, Roberto Clemente and Ernie Banks. The homeowner did not know the value of the cans, which were estimated to be between 12 and 15 years old, but they had sentimental value to her because they belonged to her late husband.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

10:30 p.m. — 46000 Russia Road, New Russia Township, theft of a 60-inch flat-screen TV and gold bracelet valued at $5,000.

Friday, Jan. 18

8:03 p.m. — 200 block Forest Park Drive, LaGrange Township, a vacant home was broken into and had sections of drywall were damaged, as well as holes in the doors. Appliances in the kitchen were also damaged.

Sunday, Jan. 20

8:16 p.m. — 4000 block Broadway, Sheffield Township, an employee from Circle K reported that a thief wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and a black T-shirt entered the business and stole $287. The case is under investigation.

Lorain police

Monday, Jan. 21

8:20 a.m. — 3500 block Reinwald Drive, reported theft of roofer max air guns from a work van. Police found a set of golf clubs, belonging to a man whose garage had been broken into, near the van. Police said at 2:25 a.m., officers tried to stop a man on an ATV, but the man drove away, leaving a duffle bag behind that contained three roofer max air guns, bolt cutters and screwdrivers.

9:06 a.m. — 1000 block Meister Road, Ashley Presser, 28, Sheffield Lake, arrested and charged with theft. Police said Presser was an employee at Apples and had taken $230.31 in cash from the register instead of cashing several customers out. Presser admitted to taking the money and said she had fallen on hard times and was about to be evicted from her home, according to police.

4:05 p.m. — 200 block Georgia Ave., Jerrad Londo, 26, and Justin Londo, 29, arrested and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments. Police said the men were passed out in a running car with syringes on their laps. The men admitted to using heroin, and police said they could face additional charges when the syringes and burnt spoons found in the car are tested.

8:18 p.m. — 100 block W. Erie Ave., a man came to the police station to report a Bersa Thunder .45 semi-automatic gun with two magazines and a gun safe were taken from his home. He told police he left the back door of his home open Sunday for his son and noticed the safe was missing at 8 p.m. Monday.

Tuesday, Jan. 22

11:21 a.m. — 100 block W. Erie Ave., police are investigating a report of a high school student who allegedly posted threatening messages to another student on Twitter. Police said the boy posted a picture of himself on the Internet holding a semi-automatic pistol and said he would harm the other boy.

Wednesday, Jan. 23

7:46 p.m. — 2000 block Broadway, a loss-prevention employee at Advanced Auto Parts said an employee of the store was letting a man take items without paying in exchange for a free property to live on. The man was believed to have stolen approximately $22,000 in merchandise. Police are investigating.
