Robert W. Corsaro, 78, of LaGrange, went home to the Lord Monday evening, January 14, 2013, surrounded by the love of his life, Gwen Bakos and his family, following a short illness. He was born July 10, 1934, in Quinwood, West Virginia. He lived in Elyria since 1960 for 42 years, prior to moving to LaGrange seven years ago.
He was employed by Brown FinTube for many years, and worked at the Elyria Postal Service for 12 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, where he received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the Grafton VFW Post #3341, and the Elyria Amvets. Bob was an avid golfer. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by the love of his life of 26 years, Gwen Bakos; one daughter, Kimberley Schilling of Strongsville; two sons, Michael (Tammy) Corsaro of Oberlin and Daniel Corsaro of Marysville,Tennessee; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Corsaro; one grandson, Jordan Corsaro; and by his parents, Tony and Beatrice (nee Nutter) Corsaro.
Friends may call at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 7 P.M., until the time of services at 8 P.M. The VFW Post #1079, will provide military honors at 7 P.M., in the funeral home.
