Juanita L. Currier (nee Feakins), 83, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria. She was born May 7, 1929 in Oberlin and was a 1948 graduate of Oberlin High School.
She had been employed at Beneficial Finance before retiring. She held the office of woman’s auxiliary president for the VFW Post #1664 in Amherst. Juanita was dedicated to her family and was always caring for others. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader.
Juanita is survived by her children, daughters, Gerrye (Allen) Weigl of Elyria, Rhonda Currier of Elyria; sons, Leon Currier of Elyria, Michael (Diane) Currier of Green Oaks, Illinois, Dale (Janie) Currier of Elyria; 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; and her sister, June Pike of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gerald H. Currier on February 17, 2011; her parents, Glen and Ruth Feakins (nee Reighley); brothers, Glenn Feakins, Herb Feakins and Darryl Feakins; and her sisters, Mildred and Roberta.
Friends may call Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 2 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Services at 4 P.M. for both Gerald and Juanita at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst. They will rest eternally together at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
